Hello dear friends! I hope your week has been awesome! I have to admit, I do not always love to cook, but making breakfast for my family on the weekends is my favorite! Do you enjoy mornings together with your crew? Somehow it brings us all together, and no matter the many directions the day will take each of us, I LOVE that we start the day together! Today I want to share one of my family’s favorite dishes- a super easy quiche recipe. Okay, let’s get started!
Step One of our Easy Quiche Recipe
First, you need to gather the grub. And by grub, I mean all of the ingredients plus the pie pan! Here is the list of things you will need:
- One pie crust
- Three eggs
- 1 1/2 cups milk
- One tablespoon flour
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar (I use sharp cheddar)
- Small onion
- Salt, pepper, and nutmeg
- One cooked chicken breast (or bacon, sausage, broccoli, spinach)
One thing that definitely puts a plus on the positive side of this recipe is that most of the ingredients can easily be found around your home. Have you ever had a recipe that sounds fantastic until one of the ingredients is impossible to find? Yup, that has happened to me! This easy quiche recipe consists of things that most of us have on hand. Super awesome!
Step Two of our Recipe
Next, you are going to set your oven to 425 degrees and spray a little Pam in your pie pan. Then unroll your pie crust. Now, if you are super advantageous, you might make your own pie crust- but this girl is just fine with the pre-made kind from the grocery store!
I cover the pie pan, with the pie crust enrolled in it, with aluminum foil.
My first ever quiche- made it from a recipe on Christmas morning. I LOVED all flavors of quiche and had never made one. Just before Christmas about 20 years ago, I found this quiche recipe in a cooking magazine. I clipped it, bought the ingredients, and made plans to cook it the morning we were having family over. I was young and thought nothing was strange about this plan! On Christmas Eve, when an aunt heard I was making a quiche for the first time EVER the next morning, she gave me great advice: always make sure the pie crust is warm before pouring in the quiche ingredients.
So you probably guessed what comes next… place the pie pan in the oven for 8 minutes.
Step Three of our Easy Quiche Recipe
For step three, we need to place all of the ingredients in a big bowl. Crack the three eggs in the bowl. Pour 1 1/2 cups of milk in the bowl and mix the milk and eggs together. Measure 1 1/2 cups of shredded cheese, then mix with one tablespoon of flour. Pour the mixture in the bowl. Cup up the small onion and add it and a sprinkle of nutmeg, salt, and pepper to the bowl. Add your meat/vegetable choice!
(Just a note here- if using chicken, bacon, or sausage, it should be fully cooked before adding it to the quiche. You got this!)
Sprinkle in the flour with the cheese!
Chop the onion into little pieces!
I used sausage for this quiche- but you can use chicken, bacon, spinach, whatever you prefer!
Your breakfast is going to be DELICIOUS!
Step Four of our Easy Quiche Recipe
After 8 minutes have passed, bring the pie pan out of the oven. Remove the foil and slowly pour your egg mixture into the pie pan.
Once your egg mixture is poured in the pan, cover it with aluminum foil again.
Lower the oven temperature to 350 degrees.
Step Five of our Recipe
Place your quiche in the oven and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. Remove from the oven and call the family to the kitchen! Enjoy!
